Framnes Fjella

 <  >

The name Framnes Mountains, or Framnes Fjella, was given by Norweian cartographers who mapped the area using ariel photographs taken by the Lars Christiansen Expedition of 1936-37

The Framnes Mountains were discovered in February, 1931, by the British, Australian, New Zealand Antarctic Expedition (BANZARE) under Sir Douglas Mawson, who named Mt Henderson, and the Casey, David and Masson Ranges.

ANARE members climbed Mount Henderson in February 1955, and the three northern ranges were explored early in 1956.
