Christine McMillan, October 2007
Sharing the same atmosphere, landscapes are connected. Australian grass seeds respond to changes in moisture in the air, where conditions are swinging between extremes. Antarctica is central to our understanding of such changing trends.
Christine McMillan collected grass seeds from around her home in Kandos, Australia. After laying seeds in a grid pattern, on a sheet of paper, she mounted a camera above. Spraying the seeds with a fine water spray, they began to move. She animated their dance frame by frame.
Moving with Christine's projected animation, we made a dance. We sensed our connections with each other through lengths of gauze, gathered from people's old first aid kits.
